My Approach
It's a collaborative and comprehensive journey
Optimal Human Function was designed with individuality and approachability at the forefront.
I want to put the collaboration back into healthcare, where we work together to find the best solution to get you feeling like your absolute best self.
The traditional approach would be one-to-one, and I do offer that, but I have also come to appreciate the benefits a group programme adds to the experience: You benefit from others' experience and get the added accountability from a group.

QUESTIONNAIRE
Our work together will always start with you completing a questionnaire.
I have developed two different ones for different purposes and stages in your journey to aid the initial assessment and provide an easy way to monitor progress:

-
The Comprehensive Health Evaluation Questionnaire (CHEQ). As the name implies, this is a structured tool that allows me to collect information and accurately assess the current status of your health and wellbeing. The relationships between the different systems in your body are illustrated through illustrations and graphs, often giving us an idea of where the initial focus for your wellbeing journey needs to be. This questionnaire is used extensively for people who are 'unhealthy' and struggling with troublesome symptoms on a daily basis.
-
The Body Stress Score (BSS) will give a snapshot of your health and wellbeing and help us decide where to focus the next stage of your programme. This questionnaire is usually used for people who are making progress but still 'unhappy' with their health and wellbeing.

If you have medical correspondence or results of previous biochemical tests, this information is also considered in interpreting the CHEQ.
CONSULTATION
After a CHEQ or a BSS has been evaluated, we will typically meet to ask further questions and discuss the best way to proceed. This can be done in person or via Zoom.
If you are working independently or in a group, like the reGroup or reCover, you may use the information from a BSS for the next stage of your progress.

If further information is needed to evaluate your situation fully, I will make recommendations for that at this stage.
TEST, PLAN & PROGRESS
If we decide they are required, we will await the results of any biochemical tests before proceeding.
Depending on your goals, we will then make a timeline and clear plan for the first few objectives. According to your specific requirements, this plan outlines the stages of progression over a 3- to 6-month period and includes any necessary adjustments to your lifestyle, diet, or supplement regimen.

At this stage, you can decide the best progress plan for you and how you would like to proceed with my recommendations.
You could work independently on the basis of the above, but I highly recommend you add the structure of either a group-based or a one-to-one programme.
The primary benefit from either is the accountability they add, but also that questions can be addressed and answered easily in a formatted programme. In contrast, you may find it challenging to find answers on your own.
REVIEW
Adjusting goals and strategies is important in the execution of plans in any area.
This is also true when it comes to healthcare.

We are all very different in how we respond to change and how quickly this happens. Through consultation, we can make any necessary adjustments or changes to your programme to ensure you progress as well as possible.
Over the medium- to longer-term, our review process will likely revisit all of the above-mentioned factors to celebrate success and review your goals.
